Facility & Equipment

Patients are managed within the 1st floor of the PTCA building. This promotes convenience for patients and Investigators. 

1st floor of the building, within PTCA

• Research Nurses’ office
• Site Manager/ Nurse Manager offices
• Reception/ Check-in office
• Monitoring room for unblinded CRAs
• Research dedicated laboratory
• Freezer Room
• Investigational Product storage room
• Vaccine preparation area
• 5 research dedicated patient exam rooms 
• Storage room and storage closets for trial supplies
• 28 additional exam rooms within PTCA accessible to KPAR for overflow and for KPAR to perform visits for patient convenience after the patient has been examined by PTCA staff are available within the 1st floor.
• 1500 square feet   

Equipment (on 1st Floor) 

• 2 temperature monitored, non-frost-free refrigerators, calibrated continuous read thermometers
• -80°C ultra-cold, scientific freezer dedicated to storage of biological specimens
• -80°C ultra-cold, scientific freezer dedicated to storage of IP
• -20°C chest freezer (used only for back-up)
• Calibrated Min/Max thermometers used on freezers.
• 2 calibrated centrifuges, adjustable speed.
• Back-up Generator for all refrigerators and freezers, initiates automatically in the event of a power outage.  
• Annual calibration on centrifuges, scales, stadiometer, blood pressure equipment, body temperature thermometers, ECG machine and microscope.
• Annual inspection and maintenance occur on freezers and refrigerators.
• Freezer/ refrigerator thermometers are discarded at the end of the calibration period and new thermometers are purchased and placed after a period of acclamation.

KPAR Administrative Area

• The administrative area of KPAR is located on the second floor and is approximately 2000 square feet. 
• Office space for COO, Regulatory Director, Clinical Research Coordinators, Research Assistants.
• Monitoring room containing wrap around countertop work area providing adequate space for up to 4 CRAs.
• Conference room
• Equipment available - Fax, copier, phone,  WiFi available
